European Dual MBA

The Dual European MBA programme is designed for those students who wish to work towards an MBA that incorporates academic study in two European locations : the United Kingdom and France.

Programme aims & structure

It is designed to engender deep learning that uses innovative delivery methods, combining an academic and professional approach and one that is rooted in critical thinking. To achieve this, the Dual European MBA award is structured to encourage thinking that is based upon reasoning and evidence rather than inference and assumption. You will be encouraged to embrace the twin approach of learning-forlife and lifelong learning. You will be intelligent, articulate, confident, and motivated to share your experiences with others and commit to a challenging educational experience that will help you understand your strengths and weaknesses and what you have to offer as a future manager.

The MBA comprises a number of core modules and two options delivered over two semesters, leading to a significant piece of research work, taken either in the form of an academic dissertation or a work-based action research project.
The core component of the programme covers the functional areas of business, the essential principles of managerial practice, leadership development, strategic management, research skills and an examination of contemporary issues in business management.Options allow you to explore a specialist complimentary business area. These themed options include marketing, finance, human resources management, tourism, hospitality and operations management. Alternatively you can do a group consultancy project.
The final third of the programme consists of a supervised individual research study in the form of a dissertation which will take a European based context or subject. On completion of the dual European MBA, graduates will be awarded the MBA from both Northumbria University and IDRAC.
